My name is Marlene Velazquez and I am a graduate student at Queens College. I am pursuing a master’s degree in Library Science and a Certificate in Children’s and Young Adult services in the Public Library. This blog is a product of my studies.
I love to read, watch Youtube videos about books, read book news. I follow most of my favorite authors on Twitter. I am not afraid to try new things. I like to be challenged and be able to grow out my comfort zone. Libraries are more than just a place to get a book and I want to be part of changing this mindset. Our future depends on us being informed and proactive.
Books challenge the world. They take you to different worlds, inform you, open your eyes to different perspectives. Libraries create safe spaces for anyone.
